THE DETAILS

Download an X video on iPhone: what to know

Copy a post link on iPhone

In the X app, open the post that contains the video, tap its Share icon, and choose Copy link. If you are using Safari, tap the browser address field while the individual post is open and copy its URL. Return to this page and paste the link into the box. The tool needs the post address itself; an account profile or a general search page is not enough.

Use Safari’s download flow

After the post is checked, choose one of the available quality options. Safari may place the video in its Downloads list, prompt you to choose a destination, or open a playable preview. If it opens in a new tab, use the iOS Share button and select Save to Files. Choose On My iPhone or an iCloud Drive folder you can find later.

Make a sensible quality choice

A higher resolution can look more detailed on a large display but creates a larger file. If you have limited iPhone storage or are on cellular data, select a smaller available option. The source may not provide every listed resolution. Check the reported choices before starting a transfer that could use a significant amount of data.

Find the saved video

If Safari downloaded the clip, tap the downloads icon near the address bar to review it. You can also open the Files app and check the Downloads folder or the location you selected. Save to Photos is a separate action in some iOS versions: open the file, tap Share, and choose Save Video when that option appears.

When a download does not start

Make sure Safari is not in a private session that blocks clipboard permissions, and try pasting the post URL manually if the clipboard button is unavailable. Keep Safari open while the server prepares the clip. A public post may still fail if X is rate limiting requests or the media is unavailable. Retrying repeatedly is less useful than waiting a few minutes.
